러쉬크로우의 팝송 번역/해석

열심히는 아니지만, 팝송을 한글로 번역한지 20년은 된 것 같다. 그런데 처음으로 한국 음악을 영어로 번역한다. 전부 번역한 것은 아니고 인터넷에서 영어 번역을 구하여 가사와 비교하고 곡을 해석하여 고쳤다.

I've been translated English pop song to Korean for 20 years. This is my first time K-POP translate to English. I did not translate all. I got a first translated version and fixed it.

가사를 보기 전에 우선 이해해야 할 것이 있다.
DNA가 무엇이길래 '우주가 생긴 그 날부터, 무한의 세기를 넘어서 계속' 함께 하냐는 것이다. 

Before you see the lyrics, there is something you understand.
What is the DNA? Why "From the beginning Universe, Through the infinite centuries go on" we are together?

사실 이 가사를 보고 깜짝 놀랬는데, 내가 오래전 부터 고민했던 '나와 우주의 관계'를 정확히 말하고 있기 때문이다.
우리가 알고 있듯이 DNA는 생물의 유전 정보를 저장하는 물질로 생명의 본질을 나타내는 최소 단위라 할 수 있다.

Actually, I was surprised to see the lyrics, because it is telling what I've been thinking about the 'Universe's origin and my existence'.
As you know, DNA is a substance that stores the genetic information of a living organism, and it can be say to be the minimum unit that represents the essence of life.

쉽게 말해 나는 부모와 같은 DNA를 갖고 있다. 그리고 할아버지도 같은 DNA를 갖고 있다. 이렇게 위로 올라가보자.
최초의 나의 조상도 나와 같은 DNA를 갖고 있다. 이렇게 나의 DNA는 지구가 탄생할 때도 있었고, 우주가 시작할 때도 있었다는 얘기가 된다.

You have a same DNA with your parents and grandfather. and Your first acestor was also. So your DNA might be when the earth was born and also the beginning of the Universe.

그러면 내가 죽은 후에는 어떻게 될까. 내 자식에게 DNA가 유전된다. 자식이 없어도 지구 어딘가에 나의 DNA는 남게 된다.

How about after you die? The DNA is inherited to your child. Even if you don't have a child, your DNA is remain somewhere on Earth.

그렇게 나는 우주가 시작될 때 부터 우주가 없어질 때까지 존재한다는 것이다. 그러니 DNA는 우주가 생긴 그 날부터, 무한의 세기를 넘어서 계속 남게 된다. 그런 DNA가 발견한 '너'이니까 당연히 태초부터 종말까지 함께 할 수 있다는 얘기가 된다.

This is it, Yor are exist from the beginning of the universe until end of it. DNA continues to exist beyond the infinite centuries since the day of the universe. this DNA found 'You'. Therefore, we are together from the beginning to the end of universe.

그밖에 '우린 완전 달라'는 어떻게 해석할까 고민했다. 직역하면 'We are totally diffrent'인데 운명으로 우리가 만났으니 다른 사람과는 다르다는 뜻으로 해석하여 'We are totally diffrent from the others'로 번역했다. 다른 사람들과 달리 우리는 영원히 함께 하니 걱정하지 말라는 것이다.

In addition, I thought over how to interpret '우린 완전 달라'. It is directly traslate to "We are totally different' but It is happened after we met with fate. so I traslate to "We are totally diffrent from the others" who break up.
